It was a dark and cold Winters day for a Norfolk Wedding Photographer but inside the wonderful Aylsham market town church a warm welcome greeted me! It was between Christmas and the New Year so the church and town was full of Christmas goodies!

This time of the year is a special one for sure for many. Even more so for Phil and Rachael, it was their wedding Yay!! It was such a wonderful day. A small intimate wedding family and close friends, perfect. The day started in the market town of Aylsham in Norfolk. A destination well worth visiting when you’ve a moment. After the ceremony which was so beautiful, it was over to Reepham and the Dial House.

A quick run down on Aylsham – Aylsham can be found tucked away in the Norfolk countryside and is a most beautiful and welcoming market town. There are many local and individual independent shops to be found. There is definitely a feel of heritage, a busy town centre and a true market town. The market place is actually owned by the National Trust and holds two markets a week. Aylsham is believed to date back to Saxon times around 500 AD. Once known as Aegal, Aegal’s Ham meaning Aegel’s settlement.

As to Reepham – Oh, its even mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086! It is a small market town in of course Norfolk. A lovely place not quite the same hold for me as Aylsham but still a place worthy of a visit. If for nothing else then a visit to The Dial house where Rachael and Phil held there wedding breakfast.
