Church Wedding : Stacey & Sean
A Church wedding – I love photographing weddings in a church. They can be difficult with regards to natural light and restricted areas of movement. At times not even being able to photograph the ceremony itself. However, when the factors are in your favour the end result is wonderful. Stacey and Sean’s church wedding was in the beautiful St. Peter’s church, Conisbrough, Doncaster. Apart from being a beautiful church the wooden pews are the work of Robert Thompson, the “Mouseman of Kilburn”. Thompson’s work can be viewed by his signature mouse carved into his work.
Bride and Groom Preparation
Bridal prep took place at the family home and was a hive of activity with all the antics of hair and make-up for all and even prep for the E-Type! Dad’s pride and joy, a beautiful red E-Type Jaguar car also needed a little prep, a wash and polish and to finish a white ribbon.
I left the family to scope the church in time to meet Sean, his brother, the Best Man and Father. All sporting handsome beards which was featured in his brothers speech later. As you will see from the images below the church and ceremony was really beautiful. If fact everything I could have wanted from a church wedding. As a wedding photographer I suppose we would always like to have our cake and eat it. The right location, the right light, the time and space to perform our art. This wedding it all came together. Yes, it was a good day!
The Couple Shots
With the ceremony complete, the confetti line run, guests were invited to make their way to the venue for the reception. It was then time to get some couple shots at the church and then onto a local castle ruin for some images of Stacey and Sean. We then headed back to Pontefract for the next stage of the day.
Wedding Breakfast & Party Time
Once we had found our way back to the reception venue the formal group shots were the next item. Thanks to the bridesmaids who were legends in organising made the task run smoothly. Group shots can be a bit of a health hazard at times and can be quite stressful for all concerned but with planning and organisation it can be quite painless. Once the groups were put to bed we had another opportunity for couple shots. This involved two golf buggies and a certain amount of buggy racing … mine was slower! Great fun, amazing images and then it was time for everyone to let their hair and beards down and relax.
